About Aavid Solar
Aavid Solar was formed in 2008 as a business division of Aavid Thermalloy, LLC, a premier provider of thermal solutions and products to the world’s leading electronics companies in the USA, Europe and Asia. Aavid Solar is based in San Jose, USA with production facilities in Shanghai to develop and manufacture PV modules, concentrator PV modules and tracker systems. Our PV modules have TUV and UL certification and come with product warranties and long term performance warranties.
Using innovative materials and designs, our Solar Products Group will deliver cost competitive, durable, and reliable products. Our CPV modules use just 1/10th of the silicon material of conventional PV modules. The silicon cells in our CPV module are laminated to an efficient heat spreading aluminum back plate using proven processes while our tempered glass cover with silicone Fresnel lenses is robust against hail damage and UV degradation. Our trackers use an innovative integrated two-axis zero-backlash worm drive gear box that uses minimal motor power and is self-lubricated and sealed for reliable and accurate operation over many years. An innovative sun position sensor allows our trackers to track the sun to within +/-0.2 degrees.
